Job summary

Arup Amsterdam seeks a Senior Engineer – Movable Bridges to lead design and analysis of steel and mechanical movable-bridge structures. You will build a multidisciplinary team, drive innovative engineering and digital tools, and advise clients through project lifecycles with cross-discipline collaboration.

The role requires 7–10 years in movable bridges, a degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering, and Dutch (B2) plus English proficiency.

Qualifications

7 to 10 years of demonstrable experience in the design and analysis of mechanical equipment and steel structures specifically for movable bridges.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
Expertise in developing designs using FEM modelling software and related tools.
Deep knowledge of standards such as NEN 6786-1 (VOBB) and the Machinery Directive.
Strong leadership and communication skills with experience building multidisciplinary teams.
Fluency in Dutch (minimum B2) and professional English proficiency.

Build and inspire a dedicated team of engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
