Job summary

Arup is hiring a junior geotechnical engineer in Amsterdam to contribute to bridges, civil structures and buildings. You will prepare desk studies, plan ground investigations, interpret data and develop ground models from geotechnical surveys.

You will perform geotechnical analyses, apply finite element methods and support design decisions within multidisciplinary teams while learning from experienced engineers. Arup supports growth in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in geo engineering or comparable degree.
• Affinity with finite element modelling (Plaxis or similar), parametric design and automation.
• Curious about the development of new techniques.
• Command of the Dutch language at B1 level.
• Excellent command of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Prepare desk studies, plan ground investigations and interpret data.
• Develop ground models from geotechnical surveys and perform analyses using finite element methods.
• Apply latest techniques and contribute to digitalisation and automation of analyses and calculations.
• Provide geotechnical advice to project teams and help shape design decisions.
• Work within multidisciplinary project teams with guidance from experienced engineers.
