Job summary

ENTER seeks a Principal Mechatronics Engineer to develop a novel platform within Advanced Packaging machines. You will integrate mechatronics, real-time control and metrology to meet stringent accuracy and throughput demands.

You will lead architecture efforts, collaborate with teams across the Netherlands, Singapore and Hong Kong, and mentor junior engineers while traveling occasionally to partner sites. A Master’s in Mechatronics or higher, and 10+ years in high-tech machine development are

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechatronics or PhD/PDEng in the field.
• 10+ years of industry experience in high-tech machine development, ideally semiconductor.
• Proven expertise in mechatronics, real-time control and metrology, in nanometer-scale motion systems.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end mechatronic system architecture and ensure performance is achievable and scalable.
• Decompose system architecture into mechatronic sub-functions and derive requirements (bandwidth, settling time, stiffness, vibration, latency, sensor resolution).
• Define and validate performance budgets across mechanics, control and metrology domains.
• Guide simulation approaches, control strategies and metrology concepts to meet budgets.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop modules and align with ASMPT teams in Singapore and Hong Kong.
• Enable testing and integration of prototypes and first production units, ensuring performance in initial production.
• Mentor junior engineers as the team grows.
• Work with Beuningen, Singapore and Hong Kong teams and Dutch partners for co-development and production.
• Occasional international travel to Asia and Europe product development centers.
