Job summary

European Space Agency in the Netherlands seeks a Lead Instrument End-to-End Data Chain Engineer for the Copernicus Sentinel-2 NG mission. You will oversee the entire data chain from front-end electronics to processing units, manage procurement, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery across Phase B2/C/D/E1.

You will lead a team of engineers, report to the Payload Manager, and work with D/TEC and OPS to align technical budgets and schedules for complex optical space

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of analogue and digital electronic system architectures, including hardware, firmware and software items.
• Experience in space system development and engineering and product assurance standards.
• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline with 4 years of professional experience (or Bachelor’s with 4 years of experience).

Responsibilities

• Lead instrument end-to-end data chain engineering for the Copernicus S2 NG mission.
• Coordinate with D/TEC and other engineers within the project team.
• Oversee procurement and delivery of instrument data chain subsystems during Phase B2/C/D/E1.
• Provide regular reporting to project management and manage schedule and risk.
• Lead a team of engineers and specialised engineering support from D/TEC and D/OPS.
