Job summary

Oyster, based in the Netherlands, seeks a lead in-house payroll expert to own Dutch payroll end-to-end. You will build scalable workflows in AFAS, Nmbrs by Visma and Loket.nl, set payroll standards, and advise on Dutch payroll matters with a customer-first mindset.

Requirements include 5+ years running Dutch payroll, strong platform experience, and knowledge of Belastingdienst filings and 30% ruling. Fluency in English and Dutch proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years running the complete in‑house Dutch payroll
• Strong knowledge of AFAS/Nmbrs/Loket.nl platforms
• Experience in payroll tax, social insurance and Dutch labour law

Responsibilities

• Run end-to-end Dutch payroll accurately, timely and compliantly
• Own master data for new hires, terminations, pay changes and garnishments
• Perform payroll validations and investigate discrepancies
• Handle statutory filings (Belastingdienst) and accesses
• Configure and maintain the in-house payroll system; test legislative updates
• Advise on payroll tax, social insurance and CAO interpretations
• Oversee GL mappings, payroll journals and data integrity
• Lead complex escalations with a customer-first mindset
• Maintain reports for regulatory and governance requirements
• Coach junior team members and maintain SOPs/playbooks
