Job summary

GIGA Storage Group is seeking a Lead Asset Performance & Analytics to build a zero-to-scale capability across Europe. You will define performance logic, KPIs and data models, bridging business needs with IT execution.

You will lead an analytics function, drive cross‑functional collaboration and shape the data platforms powering asset fleets across NL, BE and DE.

Qualifications

University degree in Engineering, Data/Business Intelligence, Physics, Science or a related field.
At least 7 years of relevant experience in energy, utilities or asset-intensive environments.
Proven experience building performance frameworks, KPI structures and analytics capabilities.
Strong BI experience, including SQL and Python, with ability to translate business needs into data requirements.
Strong stakeholder management and ability to align business, tech teams, IT and management.

Responsibilities

Develop the end-to-end Asset Performance & Analytics framework with KPIs, data models, reporting standards and BI requirements.
Work with IT to translate business needs into scalable dashboards, analytics solutions and data pipelines.
Monitor asset and supplier performance, identify trends and drive improvement actions.
Provide data-driven insights for management decisions, SLA reporting, supplier evaluations and warranties.
Build and scale the Asset Performance & Analytics function and recruit/lead the team as needed.

Build the performance capability behind our growing BESS portfolio.

The energy transition is changing the electricity system at unprecedented speed. As more wind and solar enter the system, large‑scale battery storage becomes essential to keeping electricity available when it is needed and the grid in balance.

At GIGA Storage, we are building that infrastructure at scale. We develop, invest in and operate large‑scale battery storage projects across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. And we are growing fast. By 2030, we aim to manage 1.5–2 GW of operational BESS assets. That is a battery portfolio at gigawatt scale, with enough power to supply more than a million households with electricity simultaneously at peak output.

Now we need to build the performance capability behind that growing portfolio.

That’s where you come in.

As Lead Asset Performance & Analytics, you will build this capability from the ground up. You define how we measure performance, translate operational and contractual requirements into meaningful KPIs and analytics, and create a scalable approach that can grow with our European asset portfolio. You start hands‑on and, as the function develops, you will form and lead an Asset Performance & Analytics team of up to approximately five people.

It's a role for someone who enjoys building first and leading next.

This is a senior business‑facing analytics role at the intersection of Asset Management, Operations, Engineering and IT. You do not need to be a battery or electrical engineering specialist, but you do need to understand complex operational environments and know how to turn them into clear performance frameworks, conceptual data models and actionable insights.

You will determine what GIGA Storage needs to measure across sites, blocks, asset fleets and individual assets, including transformers, breakers, battery containers and power conversion systems. You act as the bridge between the business and IT: you define the performance logic and requirements, while working with IT and data specialists on the technical implementation.

What will you do?

Develop the end‑to‑end Asset Performance & Analytics framework, defining KPIs, data models, reporting standards and BI requirements.

Work closely with IT to translate business needs into scalable dashboards, analytics solutions and data pipelines.

Monitor asset and supplier performance, identify trends and deviations, and turn insights into concrete improvement actions.

Provide data‑driven insights for management decisions, SLA reporting, supplier evaluations, warranty claims and operational optimisation.

Build a scalable Asset Performance & Analytics function and, as GIGA Storage grows, recruit and lead your own team.

What do you bring?

We are looking for someone who has built a comparable analytics or performance capability before and combines strong conceptual thinking with technical depth.

A university degree in Engineering, Data/Business Intelligence, Physics, Science or a related field.

At least 7 years of relevant experience in the energy, utilities or another asset‑intensive environments.

Proven experience building performance frameworks, KPI structures and analytics capabilities in complex operational environments.

Strong BI experience, including a practical understanding of SQL and Python, and the ability to translate business needs into data and BI requirements.

Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to challenge and align business, technical teams, IT and management.

An entrepreneurial, hands‑on mindset and excellent English communication skills. Dutch is an advantage.

Experience with BESS, EMS/SCADA data, time‑series analysis, cloud analytics platforms such as Azure or data pipelines is an advantage, but not essential.
