Job summary

Trades Workforce Solutions is seeking an Asset Manager for BESS assets in the Netherlands. You will own the asset from project handover through end‑of‑life, serving as the primary customer contact with a balance of commercial judgment and technical oversight.

You’ll coordinate field service, run RCAs, oversee maintenance, monitor performance, and shape lifecycle strategies while ensuring regulatory compliance and KPI targets are met. Fluency in Dutch and English is required.

Asset Manager - BESS

Asset Management is the critical bridge between the installed‑base assets and the customer. As an Asset Manager, you’ll sit at a pivotal shift in accountability: once a project is commissioned, ownership passes from Sales and the Project Management Office straight to you. From that point until the end of the asset’s life, its success is yours to own.

You’ll be the customer’s main point of contact, combining commercial judgement with technical oversight to keep the energy storage systems performing at their peak, fully compliant, and delivering on their commercial promise.

What it takes to be successful in this role:

• Customer management: You’ll be the accountability owner and main liaison for installed‑base customers. That means handling operational escalations, keeping SLAs on track, and managing contract renewals, all while measuring asset performance against contractual KPIs and revenue models such as tolling and grid services.
• Asset and lifecycle management: You’ll be the link between customers and the technical teams. You’ll coordinate Field Service deployments, run Root Cause Analyses, and oversee maintenance delivery. Beyond the day‑to‑day, you’ll keep a close eye on BESS performance and degradation, and shape lifecycle strategies that span everything from system upgrades to end‑of‑life decommissioning.
• Risk management: You’ll spot technical and commercial risks across the portfolio, put mitigation in place, and make sure the business stays firmly on the right side of regulatory compliance.
• Continuous improvement: You’ll help mature the asset management processes and reporting dashboards, giving the business what it needs to scale quickly.

What will you bring?

• An HBO or WO degree in Energy Systems or Engineering
• 5 to 7 years in technical asset management or operations, ideally within BESS, renewables, or critical infrastructure
• Fluent in both Dutch and English
• A customer-first mindset, solid contractual know-how, and a talent for translating complex technical detail into terms commercial stakeholders can act on
• Bonus points for hands‑on experience with hardware performance profiles and the confidence to run FMEAs and RCAs independently
