Job summary

Mistral AI is seeking a Technical Lead, Applied AI to drive the technical strategy, execution, and delivery of complex AI solutions for enterprise customers. In this role, you will lead project teams of Applied AI Engineers, ensuring successful deployment of Mistral AI products and the development of high‑impact, scalable AI use cases.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English.
• PhD or Master’s in AI, ML, CS or related field.
• 7/8+ years in AI/ML with 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Proven track record delivering complex AI projects end-to-end.
• Deep expertise in fine-tuning LLMs, RAG, agentic systems, NLP at scale.
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, LangChain, Hugging Face.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and MLOps.
• Strong software engineering, API design, backend/full-stack.
• Excellent technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Go hands-on delivering core code for complex AI projects.
• Lead Applied AI Engineers, provide mentorship and best practices.
• Lead pre-sales discussions translating requirements into solutions.
• Design and oversee AI systems with fine-tuning, RAG, agents.
• Drive innovation by evaluating new AI tools and methods.
• Collaborate with product, research, and engineering on feedback.
