Job summary

Corendon Amsterdam New-West is seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead the Mondi Caribbean Restaurant, driving exceptional dining experiences in a vibrant, international setting.

You will manage daily kitchen operations, develop your team, control costs, and collaborate with hotel departments to deliver outstanding hospitality and memorable guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervisory or management role in a professional kitchen.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Experience with purchasing, inventory management, and cost control.
• Solid knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in food preparation and service operations
• Lead, coach, motivate, and develop the kitchen team
• Ensure smooth day-to-day kitchen operations
• Create staff schedules and manage workforce planning
• Order ingredients, supplies, and kitchen equipment
• Monitor and manage stock levels and inventory controls
• Ensure compliance with HACCP guidelines and food safety standards
• Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
• Support menu development and introduce new culinary ideas
• Monitor food costs, minimize waste, and maximize efficiency
• Collaborate closely with the Head Chef and other hotel departments
• Serve as a hands-on leader during busy service periods
• Foster a positive team culture focused on development and excellence

• You have previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a professional kitchen.

• You have solid knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations.

• You enjoy working operationally and actively cooking alongside your team.
