Role and Responsibilities
As an Operational Supplier Coordinator (OSC), your primary responsibility is to secure material availability for production and field operations by proactively managing supplier performance and resolving supply shortages. You will serve as the first point of contact between Inbound Supply Chain Management, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Your responsibilities include:
- Acting as the primary operational contact for suppliers and internal customers regarding inbound supply chain activities.
- Ensuring material availability for manufacturing and field operations by continuously monitoring supplier performance, following up on agreements, and resolving supply issues.
- Managing a portfolio of materials by analyzing demand fluctuations, identifying potential supply risks, and implementing proactive mitigation actions throughout the supply chain.
- Translating supplier performance trends into improvement initiatives, such as supply investigations, replenishment optimization, and logistics improvements.
- Participating in supplier improvement projects in collaboration with Supplier Quality and Supplier Logistics teams, while driving operational improvement plans.
- Supporting suppliers through coaching and training to improve process maturity and effective use of company systems, processes, tools, and procedures.
- Driving continuous process improvement using Lean methodologies and structured problem-solving techniques (such as A3 and 4C), while contributing to departmental improvement projects.
- Analyzing and reporting on material availability and supply performance, with a solid understanding of material requirements planning.
- Collaborating closely with planning, procurement, logistics, and other supply chain stakeholders, while providing regular updates on progress, risks, and performance.
Education and Experience
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Good understanding of logistics processes, supply chain operations, material planning, and ERP/MRP systems.
Experience
- 0-6 years of relevant experience in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience with inbound supply chain processes in a high-tech, manufacturing, or complex production environment.
- Experience in material planning and inventory management.
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Experience operating in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of production supply chain processes and planning methodologies.
