Job summary

Friday & Co. Shipbrokers in the Netherlands seeks a Junior S&P Shipbroker to join our hands-on Rotterdam team. You'll build real S&P dealmaking skills from client conversations through to closing, with guidance from experienced brokers.

This role welcomes recent graduates or early-career professionals who speak Dutch and English, are curious and resilient, and ready to work irregular hours when a transaction demands it.

We are a mid-sized, independent shipbroking firm based in the Netherlands, active in ship sale & purchase, newbuilding negotiations, and market analysis across European short sea dry cargo, bulker, tanker, container and offshore vessels. We're looking for a Junior S&P Shipbroker to join our team and grow with us.

This is a hands-on role where you'll build real S&P dealmaking skills alongside experienced brokers, from client conversations through to closing, with the freedom to bring your own commercial experience or talents to the table. You'll get early exposure to real transactions, and build a career in one of the most relationship-driven corners of international shipping.

• Resilient - able to handle setbacks, slow deals, and rejection without losing energy
• Discreet and trustworthy with confidential commercial information
• Commitment to the development of your role within Friday & Co.

Nice to have:

• A few years of experience in shipping, trading, or another commercial/client-facing role
• Comfortable with numbers, deal economics, valuations, basic commercial arithmetic
