Job summary

QuantWare BV is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join the R&D team in Delft. You will translate scientific concepts into manufacturable hardware, partnering with senior engineers on design, prototyping, and procurement. This hands-on role requires a tinkering mindset and strong CAD skills.

You'll contribute to a small team, gain mentorship, and grow your expertise in 3D printing, CNC machining, and product development within a high-performing quantum hardware environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Internship experience in a mechanical engineering role.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, OnShape).
• Hands-on fabrication or hobby machining is beneficial.
• Be prepared to present a project you are proud of.

Responsibilities

• CAD & Design Support: Create 3D CAD and 2D drawings from designs provided by senior mechanical engineers.
• Product Development: Flesh out component design concepts, verify manufacturability, and manage procurement.
• Prototyping: Provide hands-on prototyping support with 3D printing and small-scale CNC machining.
• Collaborative R&D: Work in a small engineering group with mentorship and own projects.
