Job summary

QuantWare in Delft is seeking an experienced RF Design Engineer to drive the physical realization of our 3D quantum hardware. You will own the design of critical microwave components, create high-density PCB layouts, and develop packaging solutions for large-scale QPUs.

Working at the intersection of hardware and software, you will embed design processes into automated workflows and collaborate with the simulation team to validate models and ensure manufacturability.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering with RF/Microwave focus.
• 4+ years hands-on RF engineering in deep-tech or low-volume hardware.
• Solid RF fundamentals: S-parameters, impedance, Smith Chart, matching.
• 3D EM simulation experience with full-wave solvers (HFSS, Q3D).
• RF testing experience with VNA and related lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design electromechanical components and validate models with the simulation team.
• Design PCBs, silicon layout, and PCB-to-chip interconnect within the VIO architecture.
• Address insertion loss, impedance matching, and cross-talk at PCB and package levels.
• Develop Python scripts to automate design generation and enforce Design Rule Checks.
