ParaMedir B.V. is seeking a practical Laboratory Technician to support our R&D lab. You will assist with testing, sample preparation, measurements, and equipment maintenance for our urine monitoring platform.

You will work closely with the team to verify and improve our devices, participate in experimental work, and document results. Candidates should be able to commute to Roden and Groningen as needed.

Formación

ParaMedir B.V. is a healthcare technology startup based in the northern Netherlands, developing innovative (bio)monitoring solutions combining microfluidics and biosensors. We are developing the UriMoni platform, including UriMoni POC and UriMoni RT, for real-time and continuous biomarker monitoring in urine, with applications targeting Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) and Acute Heart Failure (AHF). Our goal is to develop accessible technologies that support earlier detection and continuous clinical monitoring.

About the role

ParaMedir is looking for a new member to join our team. As our research and development activities grow, we are looking for a practical and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support our laboratory operations and ongoing product development. In this role, you will work closely with our R&D team on testing, measurements, sample preparation, and equipment maintenance. You will contribute directly to the development, verification, and improvement of our products, including medical devices.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the development of new concepts for medical devices and other products developed by ParaMedir.
• Assist with the supervision and instruction of interns working in the laboratory.
• Carry out routine laboratory activities, including testing of our urine monitoring technology.
• Record and report experimental results accurately.
• Perform routine laboratory maintenance activities.
• Support sample preparation, measurements, and experimental work.
• Work with the R&D team to troubleshoot experiments and improve testing procedures.

Requirements

• MBO-level or higher education in Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Biomedical Laboratory Research, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and/or English. English is the main working language at ParaMedir.
• Experience with basic laboratory techniques and analytical measurements.
• Good social and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable following protocols and accurately documenting results.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a small, multidisciplinary team.
• Able to commute to Roden until January 2027, and subsequently to Groningen.
• Experience with biosensor development, biotechnology, microfluidics, or medical devices is an advantage.

Work schedule

We have a preference for candidates who are able to work on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We are open to either a part-time (0.4-0.6 FTE) or full-time employee.
