Job summary

Fresh Solutions Netherlands B.V. seeks a Junior Import & Customs Specialist to support daily import and customs activities. You will work with Logistics, Procurement and Supply Management and liaise with Dutch authorities, carriers and shipping companies.

The role offers a pathway to learn customs processes in an international setting, with a training option to become a customs declarant and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• MBO 4-level vocational education completed.
• A course in Customs Declaration, Freight Forwarding, Logistics Administration or similar is an advantage.
• Some relevant work experience in logistics, supply chain or admin environment.
• Good knowledge of MS Office; SAP and BI tools are advantageous.
• Excellent Dutch and good English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain contacts with government authorities and prepare information for audits.
• Support compliance with European customs and phytosanitary laws and regulations.
• Assist in preparing and checking customs declarations for Fresh Solutions Netherlands B.V.
• Support KCB applications and planning of physical inspections.
• Maintain contacts with shipping companies and carriers.
• Coordinate and monitor seasonal flow of goods from supplier to the distribution center in Waddinxveen.
• Update work instructions and contribute to process improvements and harmonization.
• Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

Your role as Junior Import & Customs Specialist

The Import & Customs department at FSNL supports the entire Fresh Solutions organization in ensuring that all inbound shipments run smoothly. As a Junior Import & Customs Specialist, you will support the team with day-to-day import and customs activities. You will work closely with colleagues in Logistics, Procurement and Supply Management. You will also maintain contact with Dutch authorities such as Customs and KCB, logistics service providers, carriers and shipping companies.

You will have the opportunity to further develop your knowledge of customs and import processes within an international and dynamic organization. In addition, FSNL is currently implementing the independent submission of customs declarations through the Fiton application. A completed course as a (junior) customs declarant is a valuable addition, but not a requirement. We do consider it important that you are willing to complete this training and continue developing yourself in this area.

Your Responsibilities

• Supporting the maintenance of contacts with government authorities and preparing information for audits.
• Supporting compliance with European customs and phytosanitary laws and regulations.
• Supporting the preparation and checking of customs declarations for Fresh Solutions Netherlands B.V.
• Supporting KCB applications and the planning of physical inspections.
• Supporting the maintenance of contacts with shipping companies and carriers.
• Contributing to the coordination and monitoring of the complete seasonal flow of goods, from supplier to our distribution center in Waddinxveen.
• Maintaining and, where necessary, updating work instructions for the department.
• Contributing to continuous process improvement and the harmonization of working methods within Fresh Solutions Netherlands B.V.
• Acting as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.

What do you bring?

• At least a completed MBO 4-level vocational education. No specific field of study is required.
• A course or education in Customs Declaration, Freight Forwarding, Logistics Administration or a similar logistics-related field is an advantage.
• Some relevant work experience in logistics, supply chain, import/export or an administrative environment. Experience as a Supply Chain Employee is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of MS Office®. Experience with SAP and data structures, such as BI tools, is an advantage.
• A proactive, eager-to-learn, hands-on and flexible attitude. You enjoy acquiring new knowledge and further developing yourself within the field.
• You have an excellent command of Dutch and a good command of English. Knowledge of German is a plus.
• You are a true team player with an international mindset. You enjoy working together and feel at home in a dynamic, international organization.
• An interest in customs and logistics processes. Experience with customs processes is an advantage, but not a requirement. We are happy to teach you the ins and outs of the profession.
