Job summary

DSV Road in Ede is looking for a Junior Freight Forwarder to start a career in international logistics. You will learn how to organize shipments end-to-end, build relationships with customers and partners, and coordinate with DSV colleagues across borders.

The role combines learning with hands-on practice in a dynamic team. As you grow, you’ll handle routes, deadlines and country-specific regulations, while communicating daily with customers and hauliers.

Finding the best transport solution for international road shipments: you’re on it. You will learn how to build relationships with partners and DSV locations abroad, consider the specific regulations and requirements of each country, and achieve the best possible result by responding quickly and effectively.

How you do this? As a junior freight forwarder, you will learn how to organise international shipments from A to Z. You will identify the best transport solution, taking routes, rates, available loading capacity, deadlines and country-specific regulations into account. This role is not limited to working behind a screen: you will communicate daily with customers, hauliers, partners and DSV colleagues abroad. Step by step, you will build both an international network and your future in freight forwarding. You achieve this by:

• learning how to identify the best transport solution, taking routes, costs, capacity, deadlines and country-specific regulations into account;
• building and maintaining relationships with customers, hauliers, partners and DSV locations abroad;
• communicating with different parties to monitor shipments closely and work together towards the best possible result;
• remaining calm and maintaining an overview when plans change, enabling you to respond effectively and find solutions even under pressure.

You bring

• secondary vocational or higher professional education-level working and thinking skills, as well as the motivation to learn the freight forwarding profession;
• curiosity about international logistics, different countries and the dynamics of road transport;
• an accurate, eager-to-learn and resilient approach, combined with a collaborative mindset and the confidence to ask questions;
• a good command of both Dutch and English.

• a gross monthly salary of up to € 3,300, depending on the knowledge, education and motivation you bring;
• a 5% bonus based on your annual salary, paid in November, in addition to 8% holiday allowance;
