Job summary

Axient Systems B.V. is seeking a Flight Software Engineer in Delft to design, develop, and verify on-board software for the PAMI-1 satellite.

You will work at the interface of software, systems, and hardware, ensuring reliable real-time data routing and processing under tight constraints. You’ll contribute to architecture, implement well-defined software components, and participate in testing, validation, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of embedded/low-level software development or equivalent experience.
• Experience with real-time or near-real-time applications.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with UART and Ethernet.
• Exposure to test-driven development, CI/CD, and Git.
• Experience with spacecraft flight software or similar high-reliability systems.
• Experience with real-time Linux and RTOS.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, UDP/IP, and FTP.
• SpaceWire, CAN-bus, I2C, SPI.
• Experience with CCSDS/ECSS space protocols CFDP and PUS.
• Familiarity with MISRA/AUTOSAR guidelines.
• Experience with encryption and security.
• Working proficiency in Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Code: develop code that integrates several complex interfaces and routes data between them.
• Software architecture: contribute to the software architecture under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Systems engineering: support requirements generation and functional flow-down.
• Testing and validation: create unit tests, perform system-level testing, and support hardware-in-the-loop setups.
• Maintain and document: write clean, maintainable code and produce clear technical documentation.
• Collaborate: work with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
