Job summary

Artefact, an applied AI company with a Utrecht footprint, is seeking a Junior Data Consultant to support national and international clients in developing innovative data & AI strategies. You will assist with data collection, cleaning, and analysis while collaborating with cross-border teams on advisory projects.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree in Technology or (Business) Economics, have strong English communication, and are comfortable with Python or R, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree, ideally focusing on Technology or (Business) Economics (MSc, MBA), with strong academic performance.
• Strong verbal and written English communication, able to represent Artefact confidently in client-facing settings.
• Hands-on experience with programming or tools like Python or R; comfortable using Excel and PowerPoint to analyze and present data.
• 6–12 months in internships or student roles in consulting, data/analytics, marketing, advertising, finance, or tech is a plus but not required.
• Business acumen with a dual profile in ‘business’ and ‘data,’ spotting business opportunities.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail, comfortable working with large datasets.
• Curious and passionate about data and technological evolution; rigorous, proactive, problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Client advisory: collaborate with clients with your team to understand business needs and deliver data-driven recommendations.
• Data collection and organization: collect, clean, and prepare data for analysis for statistical software.
• Ownership of project stream: drive individual workstreams, ensuring timely delivery aligned with goals.
• Data analysis and interpretation: use Excel, SQL, and Python to uncover trends and present actionable insights.
