Artefact Benelux in Utrecht is looking for an ambitious Senior Data Engineering Consultant to strengthen our Data Engineering team.

About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineering Consultant, you will be responsible for:

Build and maintain production-grade data pipelines with a focus on scalability, performance, and observability.
Design and optimize robust data models to support analytical and operational use cases.
Implement data quality and security checks to ensure data trustworthiness.
Explore and evaluate new tools and technologies to improve speed, scale, and data reliability.
Write clean, maintainable Python and SQL code using best practices.
Partner with cross-functional teams to understand client needs and deliver value-driven solutions.
Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team’s technical growth.

What We Are Looking For

We’re seeking someone who has:

Fluency in English (mandatory); Dutch or French is a plus.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent), in Data Engineer or similar role
Strong Python and SQL skills, with a focus on production-quality code.
Solid understanding of ETL/ELT workflows and data warehousing principles.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS, or Databricks) (Professional Certification is a plus).
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
