Job summary

InterContinental Recruiting is seeking a reliability-focused software engineer to own the resilience and scalability of a large-scale streaming platform based on Apache Kafka and Apache Flink in Amsterdam. You will drive architecture decisions and implement solutions to improve latency and availability, while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on Linux administration, strong CS fundamentals, and the ability to define SLIs/SLOs, ensuring robust operations

Qualifications

Experience building scalable distributed systems.
Strong understanding of software engineering principles.
Ability to define SLIs and SLOs.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Hands-on Linux administration and troubleshooting.
Experience with Kafka/Flink is a plus.

Responsibilities

Reliability and scalability of a large distributed streaming platform using Kafka and Flink.
Architect, write and implement software to improve stability, scalability, and latency.
Own multiple services and drive design decisions for business impact.
Build monitoring to alert on health and outages.
Run capacity tests to manage growth across data centers.
Collaborate with multi-functional teams and participate in on-call rotation.
