Job summary

IMC Trading in Amsterdam is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to manage distributed data platforms and help standardize deployments across Linux and Kubernetes.

You will join the Data Platform team, working with traders and engineers to improve observability, automate workflows with Airflow or Dagster, and drive long-term reliability of services like Kafka, HDFS and Dremio.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building and managing distributed data platforms (Kafka/Hadoop/Spark/Dremio).
• Hands-on Linux and Kubernetes deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Infrastructure as code (Ansible preferred) and best practices.
• Proficient Python development and SQL query tuning.
• Read Java source code, tune JVMs, and optimize data tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate data platforms.
• Improve observability to catch issues before users notice.
• Build automation to reduce toil and scale systems.
• Own reliability of services (e.g. HDFS, Kafka, Dremio).
• Drive long-term architectural improvements and prevent issues.
