Job summary

HUMAN CAPiTAL in Leiden, Netherlands, is looking for a Software Engineer Java & React to join a hybrid team (3 days in the Leiden office, 2 days from home). You will design, build and test new functionality for a metadata platform used by national libraries, and work with AI tools daily.

The role requires 4+ years of software engineering experience, a CS-related degree, and strong Java/Spring and React skills. AWS, Linux, PostgreSQL, and Git experience are beneficial.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Java/Spring and with React.
• AWS (Lambda, EKS, ECS) experience.
• Good knowledge of Linux and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and test new functionality and improvements to the platform.
• Analyse and solve problems in existing systems.
• Help translate requirements into designs and working code.
• Take part in unit, system and acceptance testing, architecture reviews and performance testing.
• Work on continuous integration, development environments and software releases.
• Use AI tools as a standard part of your development work.
