Job summary

Vacaturebank, on behalf of a partner company based in the Netherlands, seeks a Java Gen AI Engineer to join a team building production‑ready AI solutions. You will design and implement AI‑driven systems, focusing on agentic workflows, AI tooling, and scalable integration with cloud platforms.

The role requires at least 1 year of hands‑on AI engineering experience with Java, familiarity with LLMs, and the ability to collaborate across distributed teams across time zones.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of hands-on AI engineering experience with LLMs, AI tools, or applied AI systems, plus strong Java skills.
• Proven track record building real-world AI solutions, not just theory.
• Knowledge of AI trends, frameworks, and practical Generative AI techniques.
• Experience integrating AI with existing enterprise applications and cloud services.
• Familiarity with cloud AI services and data pipelines in AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Understanding of enterprise-scale AI projects, data pipelines, and security best practices for AI applications.
• Experience with AI-enabled web interfaces or UI frameworks, such as Open WebUI.
• Ability to work with distributed or offshore teams across time zones.
• Strong communication to explain technical concepts to stakeholders.
• Self-driven, able to manage priorities in a fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-driven solutions aligned with business priorities.
• Translate Generative AI concepts into scalable, production-ready implementations.
• Develop AI engineering solutions involving LLMs and intelligent workflows.
