Job summary

FrieslandCampina is seeking an IT4OT Network Architect to design, secure, and manage the industrial networks supporting our ICS, SCADA, and production environments.

You will lead cross-functional IT/OT teams, drive secure convergence, and ensure high availability, safety, and compliance while delivering scalable, future-ready networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/IT/EE or related field.
• 8+ years network engineering experience, 3–5 years OT/ICS/SCADA.
• Experience with industrial network hardware (Cisco, Siemens, Hirschmann).
• Knowledge of segmentation, firewalls, VLANs, and latency-aware designs.
• Strong safety, reliability, and collaboration across IT/OT.

Responsibilities

• Design highly available OT networks with resilience.
• Implement Layer 2/3 segmentation and industrial wireless.
• Apply ISA/IEC 62443 and Purdue Model compliance.
• Monitor network health with OT tools.

As an IT4OT Network Architect， you will play a pivotal role in designing， securing， and managing the complex network infrastructure that supports our industrial control systems (ICS)， SCADA， and production environments. You bring:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
• 8+ years of experience in Network Engineering, including 3–5 years specializing in OT/ICS or SCADA network architecture
• Technical Expertise, including:
  • Experience with industrial network hardware (Cisco， Siemens， Hirschmann Industrial Ethernet)
  • Expertise in segmentation and security zones (firewalls， VLANs)
  • Strong understanding of air-gapped or segmented architectures prioritizing latency and availability
  • Familiarity with configuration and management tools for industrial networks
• Safety & Reliability Focus ensuring OT networks maintain operational integrity and personnel safety

• Salary between €5,261 and €7,516 per month, depending on knowledge and experience (full-time);
• Full-time workweek of 38 hours, 5% year-end bonus, 12，5% bonus, and a pension;

• 200 hours of annual leave, the option to buy or sell 40 extra hours, and 8% holiday allowance;

As an OT Network Architect, you will design and secure robust network solutions supporting our factories and production environments.

Your responsibilities include:

• Develop highly available， resilient OT network infrastructures
• Design Layer 2/3 segmentation， industrial wireless solutions， and fiber optic systems

Security & Compliance

• Implement segmentation models aligned with ISA/IEC 62443 and the Purdue Model
• Deploy firewalls， IDS， and ensure audit readiness and compliance

Integration & Protocols

• Apply expertise in protocols such as Profinet and OPC UA

Standards & Lifecycle

• Develop and maintain network standards， documentation， and modernization strategies for legacy environments

Monitoring & Performance

• Deploy OT-specific monitoring tools to ensure network health， visibility， and real-time control performance
• Partner with engineering， operations， and IT teams to align network strategy with business needs

You will be part of the IT4OT department， situated within Enterprise Technology Services. You will report directly to the Director IT4OT and maintain close relationships with stakeholders across IT， OT， Digital， Technology， and Operations throughout our end-to-end supply chain.
