Job summary

Terma Group seeks a (junior) IT Support & Linux Engineer to join our specialist services team operating at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The role focuses on Linux-related support combined with general IT support for end users and infrastructure, with growth towards broader infrastructure or Linux engineering responsibilities.

You’ll handle day-to-day operational IT activities, own your tasks, and collaborate across a technical environment.

Qualifications

  • Junior or medior level, at the beginning of a technical IT career.
  • Linux knowledge is important.
  • Basic networking knowledge (switches, VLANs, IP, routing) is a strong advantage.
  • Affinity with firewalls and security is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows environments is useful.
  • Able to work independently on smaller operational tasks.
  • Customer-focused and communicative, with good interpersonal skills and good English.

Would you like to be part of our specialist services group, who have been providing engineering support to space agencies and prime contractors for more than 40 years? For our operational IT support activities we are seeking a (junior) IT Support & Linux Engineer, at the beginning of their career, who wants to further develop within a technical IT environment.

Your role in our team

The focus of the role is Linux-related support combined with general IT support activities for end users and technical infrastructure. You will take part in the day-to-day operational IT activities of a technical environment, take ownership of your tasks, and grow step by step towards a broader infrastructure or Linux engineering role.

The activities include, among others:

  • First-line and second-line IT support.
  • Supporting users on-site – desk and desktop support.
  • Installing and configuring software.
  • Password resets and account management.
  • Basic administration of Linux systems.
  • Connecting and checking network cabling.
  • Assisting with network and firewall related activities.
  • Troubleshooting workstations and infrastructure.
  • Supporting hardware replacements and installations.
  • Documenting activities and changes.
  • Participating in day-to-day operational IT activities within a technical environment.

Requirements:
