Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking an experienced IT Platform Engineer to join the Enterprise Data Lake team supporting ABN AMRO. You will design, develop, and maintain a cloud-based data lake platform using Azure, modern engineering practices, and automation.

Responsibilities include building robust cloud-native software, implementing infrastructure as code, and advancing CI/CD pipelines, while mentoring team members and collaborating with stakeholders in a complex enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Strong OO programming experience, Python preferred.
• Experience developing cloud-based applications (Azure preferred).
• Experience with Databricks and cloud SDKs.
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code solutions.
• Solid understanding of DevOps and CI/CD.
• Experience applying SOLID principles and software design patterns.
• Experience with automated testing (Pytest is a plus).

You will become part of the Enterprise Data Lake team, where you'll help build and improve the bank's cloud-based data platform using modern engineering practices and Azure technologies.

What you'll do

As an IT Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining the Enterprise Data Lake platform. Working closely with engineers, architects, product owners, and security specialists, you'll contribute to delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions.

Your responsibilities include:

• Developing robust cloud-native software solutions
• Building and maintaining scalable Azure-based data platforms
• Applying software engineering best practices (SOLID principles, Design Patterns, Domain-Driven Design)
• Implementing Infrastructure as Code and DevOps methodologies
• Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines
• Ensuring software quality through automated testing
• Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
• Contributing to continuous improvement and mentoring team members where needed

What we're looking for

We're looking for an engineer who enjoys building reliable software and has experience throughout the complete software development lifecycle.

Required experience

• Strong experience with object-oriented programming (Python preferred)
• Experience developing cloud-based applications (Azure preferred)
• Experience with Databricks and cloud SDKs
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code solutions
• Solid understanding of DevOps and CI/CD
• Experience applying SOLID principles and software design patterns
