Within a new electric vehicle project, we are looking for an Engineering Intern focused on topology optimization and lightweight structural design. For a new component in which several mechanical and electrical parts are integrated, we want to investigate how the structure can be made as light, strong, and efficient as possible.
The initial focus will be on optimizing a subframe or structural link, taking into account load cases, packaging, stiffness, strength, manufacturability, and the integration of electrical and mechanical components. We will specifically investigate the possibilities of metal 3D printing, topology optimization, and design for additive manufacturing. In the future, this approach may also be applied to components such as wishbones, hubs, and brake calipers.
We are a rapidly growing company specializing in restoring and customizing Land Rover Defenders to the finest detail. Think leather upholstery, powerful V8 engines, special rims, and optimized suspension. We have successfully developed an electric Defender and are always striving to elevate the Defender to a higher level, and we need your help to achieve that.
A WO-level university student with a background in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, aerospace engineering, structural engineering, materials engineering, or a comparable technical field.
You will investigate how an integrated structural vehicle component can be designed as light and efficient as possible using topology optimization and the possibilities of metal 3D printing.
This is a technical research and development internship where structural analysis, lightweight design, additive manufacturing, and vehicle development come together.
Please note that you must already be eligible to work in the Netherlands, as we are currently unable to provide relocation or visa sponsorship.
