Job description

At Hunkemöller, it's more than working in retail—it’s about passion for retail and creating beautiful moments for customers and colleagues. Together we create an inspiring working environment where everyone feels welcome and successes are shared.

What will you do?
  • Work directly with our MarTech stack—such as GTM / server‑side GTM, Snowplow, Google Ads, Meta, and ContentSquare—to support data collection, ingestion, validation, and reporting use cases.
  • Help build and improve marketing and e‑commerce reporting by transforming raw source data into clean, reliable, and analysis‑ready datasets using BigQuery and dbt.
  • Support the design and improvement of data models used in Looker dashboards, ensuring KPI definitions are clear, consistent, and aligned with business needs across marketing and e‑commerce teams.
  • Analyze tracking and reporting issues across the digital funnel to identify where data quality, event definitions, or source‑to‑report logic can be improved.
  • Partner with marketing, e‑commerce, and data colleagues on customer behavior and performance analysis, using data from Snowplow, ContentSquare, and advertising platforms to generate actionable insights.
  • Contribute to monitoring and validation processes for business‑critical marketing datasets and dashboards, improving trust in the numbers and allowing earlier issue detection.
  • Document data definitions, reporting logic, and source relationships so that dashboards and datasets are easier to understand, maintain, and scale.
  • Support ongoing improvements in model performance and reporting efficiency by reviewing how datasets are built and used within our analytics environment.
About You
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Management, or a related technical field.
  • Solid foundation in SQL and comfortable writing queries to explore, validate, and transform data.
  • Experience with a scripting language such as Python and curiosity about using it for data ingestion and automation (e.g., working with APIs).
  • Genuine interest in the “why” behind data, especially in marketing analytics, digital advertising, and customer behavior.
  • Natural problem‑solver, eager to learn modern data stack technologies like dbt, BigQuery, and Looker in a fast‑paced, real‑world environment.
  • Strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with both technical and non‑technical teams to translate business needs into data solutions.
  • Full proficiency in English (written and spoken), which is the primary language for collaboration and reporting.
What You'll Gain
  • Practical experience working with cutting‑edge data management and visualization tools (BigQuery, Looker, SAP Analytics Cloud).
  • Exposure to the inner workings of a data‑driven retail organization undergoing a major data transformation.
  • Mentorship from experienced data professionals at Hunkemöller.
  • The opportunity to contribute directly to impactful data initiatives that drive business value.
What do we offer you?
  • The Best Internship in Retail (BIIR): Be part of an exceptional internship program with 50 other fellows, offering diverse learning opportunities such as Personal Branding, Business Innovation & Presenting trainings, CEO & CFO Q&A, Dragons’ Den, and more.

  • Work‑From‑Home policy: For a 40‑hour internship, up to three days per week allowed, varying during onboarding to support learning.
  • Internship allowance: €450 per month (gross) with 8+ holiday days (based on 40 h/week).
  • Travel allowance: up to €11.50 per day, depending on distance, if you are not eligible for a free Student OV Chipcard.
  • Additional benefits: Access to a 25 % staff discount, company laptop, and company gatherings such as townhalls.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Available for 5 months starting in September 2026.
  • Enrolled at a school or university for the full duration of the internship.
  • Compliance with Dutch law: must be an EU citizen, or on a Family/Partner visa, or a non‑EU student studying in the Netherlands who meets one of the following—(1) the internship is a mandatory part of your curriculum, or (2) your university signs a third‑party agreement (Nuffic Agreement).
