Job summary

Hunkemöller invites motivated students to join the Best Internship in Retail (BIIR) program starting September 2026. You will work 4 days a week on compensation and benefits analyses, reports, and data-driven projects in a fast-paced, international environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and gain hands-on experience in HR analytics, Excel, and PowerPoint while developing professional materials for leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Pursuing 3rd or 4th year HBO/WO in HR, Business Admin, Economics, Finance, or related field.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with data.
• English communication skills; able to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support compensation and benefits analyses, reporting, and benchmarking.
• Analyze HR data to identify trends and opportunities and connect data to business needs.
• Contribute to the development of Compensation and Benefits policies and processes.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Store Operations, and Regional HR teams for alignment.
• Prepare professional, on-brand presentations for internal stakeholders.
• Assist with projects around annual performance review cycle and day-to-day activities.

What will you do?

• Supporting compensation and benefits analyses, reporting, and benchmarking activities.
• Working with HR analytics and people data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities—connecting the dots between data, business needs, and outcomes.
• Contributing to the development and improvement of Compensation and Benefits policies, guidelines, and processes.
• Collaborating closely with stakeholders across Legal, Finance, Store Operations, and Regional HR teams to ensure alignment and compliance.
• Preparing clear, professional, and on-brand presentations and materials for internal stakeholders.
• Supporting the Compensation and Benefits Manager with projects related to annual performance review cycle, day-to-day activities, project coordination, and ad-hoc problem solving in a fast-paced, international environment.

About you!

• 3rd or 4th year student of a HBO/WO study in HR, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• Available for a minimum of 4 days per week (thesis possible).
• You have strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; you enjoy working with data and turning insights into action.
• A proactive, curious, and creative thinker who is able to connect the dots and challenge the status quo.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines at the same time.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
• Able to work independently, while also thriving in cross-functional and international collaboration.
• Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with data analysis tools or visualization tools is a plus.

• Work From Home (WFH) Policy: For 40-hour internships, you are allowed to work from home up to 2 days per week, depending on the nature of your role. During onboarding, WFH days may vary to better support your learning and training.
• Internship Allowance: 450€ per month (gross) with 8+ holiday days (based on 40h/week).
• Travel Allowance: Max. 23€ per day (based on your travel distance), if you are not eligible for the free Student OV Chipcard.
• Additional Benefits: Access to 25% staff discount and a company laptop. Also, company gatherings like Townhalls and drinks.

Eligibility Criteria

For This Internship, You Need To Be Available For 5 Months Starting In September 2026. Please Note That Your Application Will Only Be Considered If You Are Enrolled At a School Or University For The Full Duration Of The Internship. Additionally, To Comply With Dutch Law, One Of The Following Must Apply

• You are an EU citizen,
• You are on a Family/Partner visa, or
• You are a non-EU student studying in the Netherlands, and you meet at least one of the following requirements: (1) The internship is a mandatory part of your curriculum, OR (2) your university is willing to sign a third-party agreement (Nuffic Agreement).
