Job summary

The Social Hub in Amsterdam is seeking an Internal Communications & Engagement Intern to help shape our employee experience. You’ll manage our internal communications tools, plan content, write articles, and create multimedia campaigns using Canva and basic video editing.

As a university student enrolled in a relevant program, you’ll work 32–40 hours per week, start February 2027, and join a dynamic international team.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled university student (WO) eligible for internship.
• Experience or interest in internal communications or engagement.
• Excellent English writing and communication skills.
• Organised, detail-oriented and capable in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, hands-on learner with a collaborative mindset.
• Digital savvy with Canva; basic video editing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage our internal communications tool and support the platform's development.
• Manage the internal communications calendar to keep it balanced and inclusive.
• Write, edit and fine-tune articles and develop engaging activations and campaigns.
• Use Canva, Figma and other design tools to create multimedia content.
• Handle incoming internal communications requests.
• Support internal projects and events to promote our brand and culture.
• Research new employee engagement and internal communication trends and practices.
• Gather feedback, track engagement metrics and prepare reports.
• Support company-wide info-sharing events like Town Halls.

Internal Communications & Engagement Intern

What You'll Do

• Manage our internal communications tool and support the continuous development of the platform
• Manage the internal communications calendar, making sure it’s balanced and inclusive
• Write, edit & fine-tune articles and come up with fun and inspiring activations and campaigns
• Use Canva, Figma and other design tools to make engaging multi-media content
• Manage incoming internal communications requests
• Support on internal projects and events to promote our brand and culture
• Research new employee engagement and internal communication trends and practises
• Gather feedback, track engagement metrics and compile data to support reporting
• Support our company-wide info-sharing events, like our Town Halls

Who You Are

• A university (WO) student (you must be enrolled), either with experience in internal communications, or a Master’s student in a relevant field, eager to learn about communications
• Living in or near Amsterdam
• Fluent in English, with strong writing skills
• Great people and communication skills
• A real "hands-on" mentality and love jumping right in to get things done
• Organised, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced environment
• Curious, open-minded, and eager to learn, not afraid to think outside the box
• Digitally savvy; experience with Canva and basic video editing is a big plus
• Nice to have: basic HTML knowledge and basic understanding of UX/UI

We make our best and fairest offer upfront, so we don't negotiate salaries. Because fairness shouldn’t depend on who negotiates best.

• Enrolment for the entire internship duration (September 2026 - January 2027) is mandatory.
• Most of our internships require 32–40 hours per week.
