GEHECO in Delft seeks a Technical Prototyping Intern to gain hands-on experience in sustainable heat pump technology. You will design and build working prototypes in a well-equipped workshop and test them as part of a small, collaborative team.

Ideal candidates are in their 3rd or 4th year of Mechanical Engineering with strong 3D CAD skills, practical tinkering ability, and a passion for green tech. This full-time internship in Delft offers remuneration.

Qualifikationen

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering (HBO or bachelor) and in year 3 or 4 with average grade 8/10.
• Strong hands-on prototyping interest and ability to translate concepts into working prototypes.
• Experience with 3D CAD and the ability to interpret detailed designs.
• Must be legally allowed to work in the Netherlands.

Are you passionate about technology and the environment? Our start-up in the green tech industry (heat pumps) is seeking enthusiastic individuals eager to gain hands-on experience and make a difference in the world of sustainable technology.

Position: Technical prototyping Intern

Key Responsibilities / What you will do:

• Detail design of prototypes; pragmatically create the drawings required to create prototypes
• Build prototypes; you will make the prototypes with tools provided in the (very well equipped) mechanical workshop. Your main responsibility is to take design concepts and improvements, and build prototypes which you will assemble yourself and test.
• Collaboration; we are a small team where every individual counts. We need your analytical thinking and problem solving skills to improve our product and drive our projects forward.
• Engage in problem-solving exercises, learn by doing on a daily basis and contribute fresh perspectives to the development of the GEHECO product.

What you bring:

• You are a pragmatic and enthusiastic individual pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related technical fields. (HBO, bachelor / mechanical engineering
• You are in your 3 rd or 4 th year, with at least an average grading of 8 (out of 10).
• Passion for making things work. Your practical talent to create a real, working prototype is what counts most in this assignment. You have a passion for making stuff work. Being able to analyze your work and come up with rapid solutions to improve it.
• Pragmatism; what works works. Solutions do not have to be perfect, you need to be able to build the prototypes with a 3D printer (available) and in the mechanical workshop. Experience using metal working tools is a big plus, as is experience in building or repairing mechanical devices.
• Physical foundation; you need to have sufficient theoretical (physical) foundation to be able to learn the relevant physics and interpret test results.
• Digital skills; you need sufficient knowledge of 3D CAD software to create detailed designs

• You are legally allowed to work in the Netherlands (EU resident or work permit)

Your personality:

• You are flexible and able to cope with the uncertainties (and freedom!) of working at a start-up. Plans may change overnight; structures are not yet firmly in place. You need to deliver on the goal, but how you do it is very much up to you.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
• Strong collaborative mindset willing to learn by experimenting and doing.
• Highly committed with a passion for green technology and sustainability initiatives.
