Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Weheat, a Dutch startup, builds heat pumps and digital products to reduce CO2 in homes. We develop hardware and software together, from first design to production at scale in Brainport Eindhoven, with Utrecht driving commercial growth.
As a backend developer you will design robust APIs and data models, collect and process field data, and improve performance and reliability of our heat pumps. You’ll work with embedded, control and product engineers in Duizel and help shape the backend
You build the backend services that collect, process and expose heat pump data for monitoring, optimisation and product development. Your APIs and data models turn field data into better performance and reliability for heat pumps in people's homes.
Heating is one of the largest remaining sources of CO₂ emissions in our homes. To tackle that, we want Weheat to become Europe's leading player in residential heat pumps. We develop, test and build our own heat pumps, from first design to production at scale in the Brainport Eindhoven region. What sets us apart: we develop hardware and software together. That makes the heat pump easier to install, and it steers itself smartly on comfort and energy prices. In Utrecht, we drive our commercial growth and build our digital products.
Going off gas should be the obvious choice for everyone, not a compromise. The better we do as a company, the faster that switch happens. You'll see what you contribute in the product and in people's homes.
If a topic is yours, so is the decision, whatever your job title. You gather input, weigh it up and see it through. Got a question or feedback? Go straight to the colleague who can help. We work without layers or approval rounds: you get trust up front, not after you've earned it.
We work AI-first. AI is built into many of the tools we use every day, and we use it wherever it makes our work easier or better.
Weheat is a young company. A lot is still being built, and you help build it. Our growth in the Netherlands and the move into Europe create new roles and markets. You get responsibility from day one and work closely with the people who design and build our heat pumps in the Brainport Eindhoven region.
