Job summary

GEHECO in Delft is seeking a hands-on Master’s student in Engineering to join our green-tech startup focused on drilling for water-water heat pumps. You will design and build a sensor to classify soil types at the drill head, and validate it in lab and in field tests alongside a small, collaborative team.

We value pragmatic problem-solving, rapid prototyping, and willingness to learn by doing. The role offers internship compensation and opportunities to contribute to sustainable technology.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master degree in Engineering with good grades (avg 8/10).
• 3rd or 4th year with average grade at least 8.
• Demonstrated ability to create a working prototype and analyze its performance.
• Legally allowed to work in the Netherlands (EU resident or work permit).

Responsibilities

• Develop and create a sensor to detect different soil types at the drill head.
• Validate the sensor in the lab with real data and in field tests.
• Collaborate in a small team to improve the GEHECO product.
• Engage in problem-solving exercises and learn by doing daily.
