Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) invites high-potential Masters students to join the Transaction Advisory Group (TAG) in Amsterdam for a 6‑month full‑time internship. The role offers exposure to pre‑deal, post‑acquisition, restructuring and performance improvement projects, with possibility to transition into an Analyst position.

You will contribute to financial modelling, client reports and pitches, while developing strong analytical and communication skills in a collaborative, high‑performing

Qualifications

• Graduate students currently enrolled for a Masters program with a focus on Finance and/or Mathematics.
• Fluent business level English and Dutch.
• Strong desire to progress in Transaction Advisory.
• Experience in Audit/Advisory or Private Equity is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support clients—including private equity firms, corporates and financial institutions—in their pre‑deal and post‑acquisition, restructuring and performance improvement activities.
• Contribute to financial modelling and analysis, including cash flow models and projections.
• Conduct research and analysis to contribute to client reports and recommendations.
• Support Managing Directors and other senior members with client pitch production.
• Research key information on company financials, business performance and additional key information.
• Assist on financial due diligence and restructuring assignments.

How You Will Contribute

As an Intern, you will be part of the TAG team in Amsterdam for 6 months full time with the possibility to transition into an Analyst afterwards, gaining exposure to:

• Supporting clients—including private equity firms, corporates and financial institutions—in their pre‑deal and post‑acquisition, restructuring and performance improvement activities

Qualifications

• Graduate students currently enrolled for a Masters program and near the end of your studies with a strong educational background including a focus on Finance and / or Mathematics
• Strong desire to progress in a career within Transaction Advisory
• Previous experience in Audit or at an Advisory firm or a Private Equity fund is desirable but not essential
• Fluent business level English and Dutch is essential.
• Well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving skills combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
