Job summary

PUM is seeking a Business Developer Institutional Funding in The Hague. The role focuses on securing multi-year institutional funding, building partnerships, and shaping fundraising strategy with a hands-on approach.

You will map donor landscapes, lead proposal processes, and collaborate across country managers, programme teams and donors to expand PUM's impact globally. This is a growth-focused, on-site role with room for initiative.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience in business development and acquisition in institutional funding.
• Experience with consortia and tender processes from the inside.
• Clear, evidence-based proposals with strategic insight and hands-on execution.
• Strong stakeholder management with many partners and tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Map the institutional funding landscape and position PUM with NGOs, international organisations and potential consortium partners.
• Monitor donor strategies, policy developments and funding rounds; build relationships with institutional donors and partners.
• Advise on opportunities and assess partnerships against PUM's long-term strategy.
• Lead the internal process from idea to submission: coordinate country managers, programme managers and ME&L team, define roles and plans, ensure timely proposals.
• Write proposals yourself or in part and review others' work critically.
• Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities and report progress to the Managing Director.
• Collaborate with Foundations & Corporate Partnerships on cross-field opportunities.
• Contribute to a stronger fundraising culture within PUM.
