Job summary

Burns Sheehan is seeking an IT Operations / Infrastructure Manager to lead a multi-site European business. The role focuses on IT operations, infrastructure coordination, service management and vendor oversight as the organisation shifts toward another MSP-led support model.

The successful candidate will balance technical credibility with operational leadership, ensuring a scalable and well-governed technology function across parks and sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as IT Operations Manager / Infrastructure Manager or similar.
• Experience in service delivery and evolving support models (in-house to MSP/outsource).
• Vendor management experience with outsourced providers or MSPs.
• Ability to handle escalations and understand infrastructure issues without being hands-on daily.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT operations and infrastructure coordination across multiple sites in Europe.
• Guide the transition from in-house service desk to outsourced/MSP-led support.

Job description

A growing European holiday park and leisure business is looking for an IT Operations / Infrastructure Manager to help modernise and professionalise its technology estate. The organisation operates holiday parks across the Europe and is at the beginning of a wider transformation journey following new investment.

This is a broad operational leadership role with responsibility for IT operations, infrastructure coordination, service management and vendor oversight. The environment is currently evolving from a more in-house support setup towards a more mature outsourced / MSP-led model, so the role will suit someone who can manage the current state while helping shape a more scalable future-state function.

The successful person will need to be technical enough to handle escalations and understand the estate, but this is not a deeply hands-on engineering role. It is better suited to someone who combines infrastructure knowledge with operational leadership, stakeholder communication and strong supplier management experience.

IT Operations / Infrastructure Manager | Key responsibilities

• Lead IT operations and infrastructure coordination across a multi-site European business
• Help transition the organisation from an in-house service desk model towards an outsourced / MSP-led support structure
• Manage service partners and hold vendors accountable for service quality and delivery
• Act as a key escalation point for major incidents, critical issues and service-related challenges
• Support the coordination of regional / site-based technology delivery across multiple park locations
• Work closely with internal technical specialists and help bring greater structure to IT operations
• Contribute to service improvement, operational consistency and a more scalable support model

IT Operations / Infrastructure Manager | Requirements

• Proven experience in an IT Operations Manager, Infrastructure Manager, Service Delivery Manager or similar role
• Strong background across IT infrastructure, end-user computing and operational support environments
• Good working knowledge of Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune and networking
• Experience managing or improving service desk / support functions
• Vendor management experience, ideally including working with outsourced support providers or MSPs
• Technical credibility to deal with escalations and understand infrastructure issues, without needing to be fully hands-on day to day
• Likely background in a mid-sized business where you have stayed close to both operations and technology
• Someone comfortable working in an environment that is still maturing and becoming more structured
