Job summary

India Port Restaurant in Utrecht specializes in traditional cuisine and curries, with dishes prepared in the tandoor. We are expanding our kitchen team and seek 2 Independent Working Chefs (Zelfstandig Werkend Kok Level 1). We offer an internal onboarding and training program to develop skills.

Salary ranges from €2,600 to €3,600 gross per month under Horeca CAO, with holiday allowance and pension accrual. Applicants who are eager to learn through our program are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• MBO 3 work and thinking level as per Dutch Horeca CAO.
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare ingredients and perform mise en place.
• Apply basic cooking techniques and prepare dishes according to recipes; work with fresh ingredients to maintain quality, taste and presentation.
• Contribute input on menu composition and preparation methods.
• Manage inventory and ordering, check deliveries, and rotate stock according to FIFO.
• Provide technical guidance and supervision to kitchen assistants.
