Job summary

GOGLA is seeking a Grant and MEL Operations Manager to support grant management, monitoring, and learning across projects. You will help implement MEL and grant systems to ensure timely, accurate reporting and evidence-based learning for donors.

Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Programmes, with finance input, the role can be based in Amsterdam or Nairobi. Requires 5+ years in development/non-profit work, data handling skills, and excellent English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related subject (e.g., international development, economics, geography).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the development or non-profit sector, with demonstrable experience of grant administration and MEL systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and online management systems.
• Experienced in quantitative and qualitative evaluation and ability to handle data from disparate sources.
• Excellent English language communication skills – able to convey complex ideas, data and information verbally and in writing. A second language (e.g., French) is an advantage.
• Proven ability to operate in a diverse and remote team environment. Shows self-motivation and ability to work independently without supervision.
• High attention to detail and organisation skills.
• A passion for GOGLA’s mission and energy access; eager to learn and grow to support our operational excellence.
• Eligible to live and work in one of our office locations, either the Netherlands or Kenya.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate grant applications and track funding opportunities.
• Align project lifecycle with grant deliverables; ensure compliance.
• Deliver high-quality project reports.
• Develop and maintain grant management systems; suggest improvements.
• MEL coordination across the organisation; align with strategic objectives.
• Consolidate data capture and standardize MEL systems.
• Ensure timely data capture, evaluation and reporting of KPIs and learning reviews.
• Provide QA and training on MEL systems.
