Job summary

Channable seeks a Team Lead for the Infra Platform Group in Utrecht to architect and deliver foundational services powering our e-commerce platform. You will split time between leadership and hands-on development, mentoring four engineers and shaping the architecture with the group.

You will guide design and implementation across Haskell, Rust, and Python, collaborate with other teams, and drive the roadmap using OKRs. A willingness to learn Haskell if needed is welcome.

Qualifications

• You have previously led an engineering team or are an experienced engineer ready to step into leadership.
• You can provide detailed code reviews from high-level and low-level perspectives.
• You have the depth to help team members grow and remove roadblocks.
• Extensive backend experience, comfortable with functional programming concepts; proficient in Haskell, Scala, or Rust; Python is a plus.
• Familiar with relational databases (prefer PostgreSQL), Linux and Git.
• Experience with web development, APIs, and modern web tech.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• People-oriented, open, and approachable with high software engineering standards.
• Pragmatic and empathetic; aligns team priorities with company OKRs.

Responsibilities

• Organize work and manage priorities for the team.
• Collaborate with other Infra Platform Group leads on long-term roadmap.
• Mentor team members and conduct semi-annual performance reviews.
• Set up project teams and mentor project leads; hire new team members.
• Improve team processes and establish a collaborative culture.
