Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Leiden, Netherlands, is seeking a Material Planner to coordinate planning and procurement of raw materials and components, converting MPS and DS outputs into material requirements to ensure availability for production lines.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in supply chain management or related field.
• Up to 2 years’ relevant experience in planning, purchasing, logistics or manufacturing in a multinational environment; pharmaceutical/biopharma experience preferred.
• Practical experience with SAP or similar planning/inventory systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with Lean or continuous-improvement approaches and a focus on efficient, reliable processes.
• Clear communicator who collaborates across functions and ensures customer requirements are planned and shared.
• Results-oriented, organized, and eager to grow into future leadership roles within Johnson & Johnson.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain and publish Materials Requirement Plans (MRP) to ensure production and customer needs are met on time.
• Manage inventory to minimize excess, obsolete and expired items while meeting service goals.
• Communicate material delivery schedules to suppliers promptly to support production plans.
• Partner with Global Procurement to improve supplier quality and on-time delivery.
• Track and report supplier service performance and work with stakeholders to resolve issues, including coordination for returns or disposals of rejected materials.
• Support Phase‑In and Phase‑Out of materials and drive continuous improvement in planning processes and practices.
