Job summary

Medtronic in the Netherlands is hiring an Associate Accountant for the EMEA Account to Report team. Based in Heerlen with a hybrid setup (2-3 days in the office), you will handle payroll entries, month-end close, reconciliations and support process improvements across the finance function.

You will collaborate with regional teams, contribute to financial reporting and governance, and develop analytical skills while gaining exposure to end-to-end finance processes in a global healthcare

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• 1-3 years of relevant finance or accounting experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Excel, SAP or Power BI is a plus

Responsibilities

• Manage employee-related financial calculations and transactions including monthly payroll entries, bonus accruals and restructuring accruals
• Coordinate and manage monthly financial close operations and related transactional activities
• Perform payroll finance and record-to-report processes with high accuracy and ensure compliance with internal policies and local regulations
• Conduct high-quality Balance Sheet reconciliations and validate financial information
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
• Collaborate with stakeholders on financial impacts, risks and opportunities
• Compile, analyse and report financial data to support decision-making insights
• Participate in projects that contribute to Medtronic’s broader business strategy
