Job summary

ABB in Ede, Netherlands, is seeking an HSE Specialist to create and maintain a safe, healthy, and sustainable working environment. You’ll coach colleagues, drive behavioral change, and lead on compliance, audits, and improvements on the shop floor.

You will develop HSE procedures, support manufacturing and Sales teams, and collaborate with international stakeholders to strengthen ABB's HSE culture. A HVK qualification and 5+ years in a similar role are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree level (HBO) working and thinking capability.
• HVK Higher Safety Management qualification completed.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar HSE role (e.g., Safety Advisor or QHSE Manager).
• Experience with ISO certifications and management systems.
• Manufacturing or industrial environment experience.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering and NEN 3140 is a strong advantage.
• Excellent organizational, multi-priority management, and stakeholder skills.
• Fluent Dutch and English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Drive behavioral change and raise awareness on health, safety, and environmental topics.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, policies, procedures, and certifications.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits, inspections and reviews.
• Develop, maintain and improve HSE procedures, work instructions, and reporting.
• Investigate incidents and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure availability of PPE, safety equipment, and tools for workers.
• Support HSE activities in manufacturing and commercial teams, including Sales.
• Collaborate with national and international stakeholders to strengthen ABB's HSE culture.
• Initiate and support sustainability and circularity projects.
