Job summary

Hitachi Energy The Netherlands B.V. is seeking a Project Safety Officer to lead HSE on site across Benelux. You will enforce policies, coach teams, and intervene to stop unsafe work, ensuring compliance with local regulations and customer requirements.

Role requires strong field presence, 3–5 years HSE experience, MVK certification, and frequent travel between Belgium and the Netherlands. Dutch and English fluency are essential, with French a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
3–5 years hands‑on HSE experience in construction, energy, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
MVK or equivalent HSE certification required.

Responsibilities

Act as primary HSE representative on site, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance.
Conduct site inspections, audits, walkdowns, and incident investigations with root-cause analysis.
Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and coaching to all personnel.
Ensure all workers are trained, briefed, and authorized before works commence.
Exercise stop-work authority for unsafe acts/conditions and implement corrective actions.
Maintain accurate HSE documentation, reporting, and KPIs.
Support project planning by integrating HSE requirements across teams and contractors.
Travel frequently across Belgium and the Netherlands to project sites.
