Job summary

Maersk, Maasvlakte site in the Netherlands, seeks a Head of Prevention to implement safety policies aligned with national law, ISO/TAPA standards, and client requirements. You will lead risk analysis, incident investigations, and a comprehensive prevention program within a global logistics context.

You will coordinate with line managers across departments, drive audits, and develop processes for improvement while maintaining compliance and emergency readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with formal prevention education or proven experience at this level.
• 1+ years' experience as a certified prevention advisor in contract logistics and 3+ years in general contract logistics.
• Experience in a multinational organization and IT systems is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to work with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to develop strong relationships with team leaders to identify and mitigate risks.
• Excellent communication in Dutch and fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Plan, document, follow up, and monitor safety processes and procedures.
• Audit processes and conduct regular workplace visits to monitor safety.
• Perform risk analyses and understand risk profiles of activities.
• Develop and maintain prevention and recovery systems for business continuity.
• Provide high level recommendations to reduce risks for leadership decisions.
• Coordinate with line managers on investigations into accidents and near-misses.
• Advise on workplaces and materials; monitor corrective and preventive actions.
• Disseminate safety and quality information across the organization.
• Support emergency procedures and first aid; manage internal prevention services.
• Contribute to annual prevention planning and performance tracking.
• Ensure processes meet quality requirements and drive audits.
