Job description

We are seeking a hands‑on HR Business Partner to join our European HR team, supporting a rapidly growing medical device organization with approximately 200+ employees across multiple countries. This role goes beyond traditional HR BP responsibilities — you will be the architect of our European HR policy framework and operational systems, working closely with the European HR Head and China HQ to build scalable, compliant, and business-aligned HR infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
Policy & System Design (35%)
  • Design, draft, and maintain European HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks across multiple jurisdictions (DACH, Poland, Netherlands, France, etc.)
  • Build and implement standardized HR operational frameworks including onboarding, performance management, compensation & benefits, and offboarding
  • Develop SOPs and process documentation for cross-border HR operations
  • Ensure all policies are compliant with local labor laws, GDPR, and EU directives
Business Partnership (35%)
  • Partner with European business leaders to understand workforce needs and translate them into HR solutions
  • Support organizational design and restructuring initiatives
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations
  • Act as a trusted advisor on local HR practices and cultural considerations
Operational Execution (30%)
  • Draft and review employment contracts, offer letters, and policy documents in English
  • Coordinate with external vendors (payroll providers, legal counsel, recruitment agencies)
  • Support HR system implementation and configuration (e.g., SuccessFactors, Workday)
  • Maintain accurate HR data and reporting for management review
Requirements
Must‑Have
  • 5+ years of HR experience in multinational or cross‑border environments, preferably in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries
  • Demonstrated experience in building HR policies and systems from the ground up (not just executing existing frameworks)
  • Strong understanding of European labor law, particularly in DACH and/or Central/Eastern European markets
  • Excellent written English — able to draft policy documents, SOPs, and employee communications independently
  • Hands‑on mentality — willing and able to do detailed operational work, not just strategic planning
  • Experience with HRIS systems (SuccessFactors, Workday, or similar)
Nice‑to‑Have
  • Experience in a multinational expanding into European markets
  • Knowledge of multiple European jurisdictions (Germany, Poland, Netherlands, France)
  • HR certifications (CIPD, SHRM, or local equivalents)
  • Mandarin Chinese language skills (for HQ communication)
What We Offer
  • Opportunity to build HR infrastructure from the ground up in a fast‑growing global organization
  • Direct exposure to senior leadership in both Europe and China HQ
  • Competitive compensation package
  • Hybrid work arrangement in Rotterdam, Netherlands
