HR Advisor
Department: Human Resources
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Utrecht, NL
Reporting To: Rutger Hendriks
Compensation: €55,500 - €65,500 / year
Description
You're an excellent candidate for Bizzdesign because you ...
- Speak fluent English (both spoken and written). Dutch language skills are considered a strong plus.
- Are based in the Netherlands (Utrecht area) and can commute to our office in Utrecht 2-3 times per week and 1 time per month to our Enschede office.
- Have at least 5 years of experience in an HR Advisory, HR Generalist, or similar role within an international organisation supporting multiple countries, with a strong understanding of Dutch employment law.
About the role
As an HR Advisor at Bizzdesign, you will play a key role in partnering with leaders and employees across our global organization, helping to drive performance, engagement, and organizational success, while reporting to the Manager HR Business Partner.
Joining our international HR team means working in a dynamic environment where you are given both the autonomy to own your region and the support of a collaborative global team. With colleagues located across 19 countries, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both local and global HR initiatives.
What will you do
- Act as a trusted HR partner for a portfolio of countries across different regions. Initially, your focus will be on the Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Singapore, with opportunities to expand your international scope over time.
- Advise and coach managers on people-related topics, including employee relations, team effectiveness, performance, engagement, and organizational change, while navigating complex or ambiguous situations, balancing business needs, employee experience, and local legislation to provide pragmatic recommendations.
- Support leaders and teams through periods of growth, transformation, and change, helping to create high-performing and engaged teams.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers on all HR matters, taking ownership of questions and challenges from initial enquiry through to resolution. You'll proactively seek information, assess risks, and determine the best path forward rather than relying solely on established solutions.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, internal mobility, offboarding, contracts, benefits administration, absence management, and payroll preparation.
- Use HR insights and data to support decision-making, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, policies, and programmes, bringing forward ideas that improve employee experience, efficiency, and compliance.
- Take ownership of strategic and operational HR projects, including initiatives focused on HR technology, process improvement, leadership support, and organizational effectiveness. Some concrete examples include updating the employee handbook, harmonizing benefits, creating and updating global and/or local policies based on needs, and supporting the new HRIS implementation.
What we are looking for
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in an HR advisory or Generalist role within an international organization supporting multiple countries.
- Experience working within the Netherlands and a solid understanding of Dutch employment law, HR practices, and employer obligations.
- Experience working with a Works Council and advising managers and employees on employee relations matters in compliance with local legislation and company policies.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, countries, and HR topics simultaneously without losing attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of unfamiliar or complex topics, with the confidence to research, make recommendations, and drive solutions forward.
- Experience working with HR systems; familiarity with BambooHR is a plus.
- Fluency in English (C1 level or higher), written and spoken, is required. Dutch language proficiency is considered a strong advantage.
- Availability to work from our Utrecht office 2-3 days per week and travel to our Enschede office approximately once per month.
What we offer
- A competitive salary complemented by variable compensation.
- A premium pension plan to help you build a secure and comfortable future.
- 28 vacation days to recharge, with the option to buy up to 10 extra days whenever you need more freedom and flexibility.
- Hybrid working that truly works: enjoy a balance of 2-3 collaborative in-office days, with the remaining days designed for focused work from home.
- Smooth commuting with an NS Business Card or mileage reimbursement. Your journey, your choice.
- Top-quality IT equipment from day one, plus a personal tech budget so you can tailor or upgrade your setup to your liking.
- A monthly work-from-home allowance to help you create your ideal home office environment.
- Global collaboration in an international environment, working alongside talented people from all over the world.
The final offer will be positioned fairly within the salary range based on your experience, skills, impact, and scope of responsibilities. For the Netherlands, the amount listed includes the holiday allowance.
