Job summary

Unicorn Hospitality B.V. seeks a Part-time Hotel Host to be the face of the Amsterdam Sloterdijk property and ensure guests enjoy a seamless stay. You will greet guests, assist with check-in/check-out, and coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to uphold high standards.

The role is 16 hours per week with Sunday and Monday shifts from 14:00 to 22:00, plus occasional back-up shifts. Fluent English is required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Willingness to work part-time (16 hours/week).
• Shift pattern Sundays & Mondays 14:00–22:00; back-up shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and create a warm first impression.
• Assist guests with check-in and check-out.
• Provide guest requests and information; respond to questions.
• Suggest local restaurants, attractions, and transportation options.
• Conduct daily quality inspections of rooms and public areas.
• Report maintenance issues and follow up as needed.
• Handle light administrative tasks and guest communications.
• Keep the property clean, safe, and well-presented at all times.
• Support daily hotel operations and take initiative as needed.

Unicorn Hospitality B.V. Is looking for a Part-time Hotel Host to join our team at Amsterdam Sloterdijk. As the face of our aparthotel, you'll play a key role in ensuring every guest enjoys a comfortable, seamless, and enjoyable stay.
(Shift pattern Sunday & Monday - 1400 to 2200hours + incidental back up shifts to cover holidays or illness)

About the Role

As a Hotel Host, you are responsible for the day-to-day guest experience and the smooth operation of the property. You will be the first point of contact for guests, ensure the hotel always looks its best, and work closely with housekeeping and maintenance to maintain our high standards.

Your responsibilities include:

• Welcoming guests and providing a warm, professional first impression.
• Assisting guests with the check-in and check-out process.
• Providing excellent customer service and responding to guest requests and questions.
• Sharing local recommendations for restaurants, attractions, and transportation.
• Performing daily quality inspections of guest rooms and public areas.
• Reporting maintenance issues and following up when needed.
• Handling light administrative tasks and guest communication.
• Ensuring the property remains clean, safe, and well-presented at all times.
• Supporting the daily hotel operation and taking initiative whenever needed.

• Flexible and willing to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Able to stay calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is an advantage but not required.
• Living in or willing to commute to Amsterdam.
• Previous experience in hospitality, hotels, tourism, or customer service is a plus, but not essential. We value attitude and personality just as much as experience.
