Job summary

PUM is a unique NGO focused on developing global horticulture ecosystems. The Programme Manager Horticulture translates client needs into project proposals, leads the horticulture programme with in-country managers, and ensures delivery with lasting impact.

You will shape strategy and partnerships across diverse regions. The role demands 10 years in horticulture, a strong Netherlands network, SME experience, and comfort with Microsoft 365 and Dynamics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree working and thinking level.
• 10 years of professional experience with horticulture and a strong business network in the Netherlands.
• Experience with SMEs and basic business management processes.
• Background in programme management and team leadership; experience with volunteers is a plus.
• Understanding business realities faced by SMEs and small-scale farmers; international experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess project requests and translate into actionable project proposals.
• Ensure a strong match between client needs and expert skills.
• Develop programme plans aligned with organisational goals and partnerships.
• Identify and secure funding opportunities from donors and partners.
• Monitor developments and anticipate future demand; position experts accordingly.
• Coordinate data and knowledge sharing across projects and the expert community.
• Support partnerships mapping and strategic collaboration.
