On behalf of a rapidly expanding financial technology firm, we are seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial Head of Finance to lead and scale the finance function for their newly launched European trading hub in Amsterdam.

Our client is a well-established provider of advanced trading, risk management, and market data solutions to institutional investors. With a strong reputation they are now building out their European operations and seeking a senior finance leader to drive this growth.

Role Overview

As Head of Finance, you will be responsible for establishing and overseeing all financial operations in Europe. You will act as a key business partner to executive leadership, ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and strategic alignment with global objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and lead the European finance function, including accounting, reporting, and compliance.
• Ensure full adherence to Dutch GAAP, tax regulations, and financial governance standards.
• Collaborate with the headquarters to harmonize global financial policies and reporting frameworks.
• Deliver timely and accurate financial statements and performance reports.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning for the European business.
• Manage external audits, tax filings, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Provide strategic financial insights to support executive decision-making and business expansion.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in senior finance roles, ideally within fintech, trading, or financial services.
• Proven experience in setting up or scaling finance operations in new markets.
• Deep understanding of Dutch accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are a plus.
