Job description

Group Communications Manager
(40 hours)

About The Job

Are you a brand led communications leader who can translate our circular business model into clear, persuasive stories that resonate across the retail supply chain? Join Euro Pool Group to develop a clear communication strategy, lead and execute a compelling cross channel content roadmap about the impact of our reusable transportation packaging of trays and pallets in our value chain around Europe and enable the Euro Pool System (EPS) and La Palette Rouge (LPR) marketing teams to deliver aligned, high impact campaigns across multiple touchpoints. This critical role is based in our Euro Pool Group (EPG) office, in Rijswijk. It’s the head office where group-wide strategies and plans are developed and rolled out across our European markets.

this is a high-impact position in a retail supply chain company at a defining moment in its evolution of a Marketing, Communications and Sustainability function. You report to the Group Marketing & ESG Director and will work in close collaboration with Divisional Marketing and Sustainability leaders, the Head of Regulatory & Public Affairs and other business stakeholders.

In this role, you will:

Translate the Group brand strategy into a convincing, brand led communications strategy and roadmap for EPG that turns its circular business model, ESG commitments and regulatory developments into clear, differentiated and business relevant stories. Protect and maintain the EPG brand governance and translate the brand narrative into a consistent, measurable content program across on- and offline channels while actively enabling and quality assuring the two divisional Marketing Managers (EPS & LPR).

Core responsibilities – two pillars:

Brand —governance & development

  • Protect and maintain EPG’s brand governance: visual identity, vocabulary, tone of voice, positioning playbook, Brand Guideline Book and quality standards across the group and markets EPG operates in.
  • Align and collaborate closely with the divisional Marketing Managers on Group brand architecture, key themes, and thought leadership territories maximizing impact across target audiences.
  • Work with divisional Marketing Managers to translate the group positioning into a cohesive system with the divisional brands, delivering brand and creative assets that support their growth targets.
  • Initiate longer term group brand initiatives (thought leadership, signature campaigns, community building, events) that increase awareness, preference and trust.
  • Measure the EPG brand health and reputation and implement a governance rhythm (brand reviews, training and asset updates) to ensure consistent market execution.

Communications & Content — activation, channels & enablement

  • Translate the EPG brand strategy into an integrated communications and content strategy and program for internal and external audiences across channels.
  • Create and operate a group level content calendar (incl. events) to position EPG as a thought leader in food supply chain and circularity; produce or commission whitepapers, case studies, thought pieces, sales enablement materials (used by the divisions) and (internal) campaign assets. For international events you are driving the overall messaging and event coordination.
  • Lead EPG’s social media strategy, with priority on LinkedIn; set content frameworks and templates that divisional teams can adapt while maintaining coherence.
  • Facilitate and enable EPS & LPR Marketing Managers with Group content: provide templates, campaign frameworks, QA and training (e.g. linked to regulation).
  • Oversee external creative, digital and PR agencies; set briefs, measure output quality and ensure timely delivery and measurable impact.
  • Develop a Content Production Governance framework, defining creation, collaboration, and approval workflows, policies and platforms at group level, replicable at divisional level, to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance.
  • Collaborate and partner with Digital Marketers to proactively gather performance data to continuously optimize content and increase ROI of content investments.
  • Collaborate and partner with HR on group internal employee events and content creation (e.g. Sharepoint), contributing to employee engagement.
  • Set up, deploy, own, and maintain a Digital Asset Management system (DAM) and develop a tagging taxonomy for group and divisional content assets, providing the company with a single source of truth for brand and content assets, improving brand safety, ensuring compliance, and boosting key stakeholder engagement.

In addition, you are involved in:

Cross functional collaboration (ESG/ Sustainability, Public Affairs & Divisions)

  • Work very closely with Sustainability and Public Affairs to translate ESG, circularity and regulatory developments into credible, timely content and positioning for both EPG and divisions.
  • Act as the primary bridge between Communications and Sustainability/Regulatory & Public Affairs for external regulatory communications, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and market suitability.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Country Leads and HR teams to align messaging, activate customer stories and support employees facing brand engagement.

Performance, measurement & governance

  • Set clear KPIs and reporting for EPG’s brand health & reputation, content performance and channel metrics; use analytics and market insight to iterate strategy.
  • Example KPIs: brand awareness/preference indicators, organic website traffic & conversions, SEO/GEO rankings, LinkedIn reach/engagement/followers, and PR placements.
  • Maintain a communications playbook including crisis/issue guidance and PR protocols that can be adapted by divisional teams.

About you

To be successful in this role, you combine strategic thinking with a clear hands-on mentality. You know how to translate strategy into clear messaging, compelling market stories and consistent brand experiences. You have built your career in B2B brand and/or communications, are intellectually sharp, able to deliver impactful communications and measurable business results, with a strong focus on sustainability & circularity and collaborative partnerships. Your energy is felt by everyone you work with whilst bringing a mindset of performance and impact to communications.

We believe you also bring:

  • 8-10 years in corporate/B2B communications and brand management; experience in retail supply chain, FMCG, food or regulated sectors is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of translating strategy into multi-channel content and measurable campaigns.
  • Strong digital expertise: online (content) strategy, content operations and social (LinkedIn) best practice.
  • Experience working in matrix organisations and directly supporting divisional or country marketing colleagues.
  • Agency management experience across creative, digital and PR partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal English; Dutch and French are an advantage.
  • Experienced in using AI tools for content production and analytics.
